Job summary
Union County Engineer's Office is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector to perform inspections across the county, including subdivision roads, storm sewers, and related utilities. You will witness subgrade compaction, soils testing, paving, and ensure conformance with approved plans and specs.
Completion of an associate degree in Construction Technology or Civil Engineering, or related field, plus four years of engineering or surveying experience, is required, with a valid Ohio driver’s
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Ability to read/comprehend project plans and specifications.
- Strong inspection and measurement skills.
Responsibilities
- Inspects development sites including subdivision roads, storm sewers and related utilities and keeps daily inspection logs.
- Inspect County Road improvement projects and bridge/culvert work per plans and specs.
- Assist with annual inspections and inventory of county bridges and culverts; prepare inspection reports.
- Assist with right of way permits and restoration.
- Size driveway pipe and inspect installation for county standards.
- Maintain safety and enforce county policies during inspections.
- Coordinate with utilities, contractors, and consultants.
- Prepare punch-lists for unsatisfactory work and support as-built drawings.
