Job summary

Jackson County's Public Works department is hiring a field inspector to perform inspections on road projects, bridges, and related structures. The role supports design work and material testing to ensure quality and compliance with federal guidelines.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s Degree and at least four years of related experience, plus a valid Missouri driver’s license and clear background checks.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of experience in road construction and quality control inspection, drafting and plan specification design, project management or the combined experience.
• Must possess/maintain valid Missouri Driver's License.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of roadway construction, reconstruction, bridges, culverts and road maintenance.
• Assist with technical design work in support of construction projects.
• Coordinate testing of road construction materials to meet standards.
• Inspect, document, and inventory bridges and structures per federal guidelines.
