Job summary

WSP in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Construction Inspector to provide field measurements and reports for payment quantities and changes in the work, while interpreting drawings and specifications.

You will inspect work on the construction site for compliance with plans, approve contract payments, observe safety practices, and uphold client policies. Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• High school graduate
• Minimum of 3 years experience
• Experience with PennDOT, Allegheny County, and/or Port Authority of Allegheny County preferred
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to health, safety and drug/alcohol policies
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements

Responsibilities

• Provides field measurements and reports for payment quantities and changes in the work
• Reads and interprets drawings, specifications, and standards
• Inspects various facets of work on the construction site for compliance with plans, specifications, and appropriate standards
• Makes contract payments for review and approval
• Observes general job safety practices and enforces contractor's safety plan
• Comply with client policies and procedures for inspection of work under contract
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
