Job summary

WSP is seeking a Construction Inspection Specialist for our Philadelphia, PA office. You will perform technical inspections of construction projects or materials testing work, including project safety, records control, and interpretation of contract requirements from drawings and specs.

Travel to field sites; QA testing; document progress; assist in preparations for payments; requires 3+ years of relevant experience and a High School Diploma. Hourly compensation ranges from $28.00 to $35.00.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction inspection procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of building construction techniques and standards.
• Ability to collect and evaluate technical data.
• Knowledge of testing methods for construction materials.
• Ability to interpret construction codes, plans, and specifications.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Effective communication, both oral and written.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of construction projects for contract compliance.
• Performs quality assurance testing of materials and prepares documentation.
• Schedules and controls test procedures for compaction and soils sampling.
• Conducts training for personnel on safety standards.
• Prepares project documentation, cost estimates, and progress reports.
• Performs calculations for quantities of work and materials used.
• Compiles data and records measurements with inspection equipment.
• Updates daily inspection logs.
• Inspects aggregates, concrete, and bituminous products at vendor sites.
• Travels to field sites to perform inspections.
• Performs related work as required.
