Job summary

WSP USA in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform field measurements and report changes for payment quantities. You will read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards, and inspect work on site for compliance with plans and standards.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of inspection experience and a high school diploma. Some travel may be required; adherence to safety plans and company policies is essential.

Qualifications

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector for our Pittsburgh, PA office.

Responsibilities

• Provides field measurements and reports for payment quantities and changes in the work.
• Reads and interprets drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Inspects various facets of work on the construction site for compliance with plans, specifications, and appropriate standards.
• Makes contract payments for review and approval.
• Observes general job safety practices and enforces contractor's safety plan.
• Complies with client policies and procedures for inspection of work under contract.
• Exercises responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adheres to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Minimum of 3 years experience.
• Experience with PennDOT, Allegheny County, and/or Port Authority of Allegheny County preferred.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Any Level NICET certification.
• Current NECEPT‑Bituminous and ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician.
• PennDOT ECMS or PA Turnpike Kahua.
