Job summary

NC Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician I (S) to support the Goldsboro Construction Resident Engineer’s Office. You will perform inspection, surveying, materials testing and related duties on assigned highway projects, ensuring compliance with plans and safety standards.

You will also help with data collection, plan interpretation and communication among technicians, engineers, contractors, and the public, while maintaining daily records and adapting to traffic

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in construction inspection or surveying preferred.
• Ability to work with engineers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection and surveying duties on assigned projects.
• Test and sample materials for compliance with plans and specs.
• Assist with erosion control inspections and traffic control audits.
• Maintain daily records and reports.
