Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Construction Inspectors to join our Newburgh, NY office. You will inspect bridge/highway construction, document progress with reports and photos, and ensure compliance with NYSDOT specs while coordinating with a team and clients.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in inspection, and likely NICET II or civil engineering degree; NYSDOT experience is a plus. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 2+ years of related construction inspection experience preferred.
• NICET II certification and/or bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of federally aided transportation projects as a construction inspector preferred.
• Experience working with/for NYSDOT and/or municipal clients preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
• Experience with Appia software and NYSDOT's MURK is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
• Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection.
• Ensures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications.
• Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisions.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
• Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
