Wagman, Inc. is seeking a Construction Engineer to join our Heavy Civil Team. Located primarily in the Virginia market, this hands-on role requires coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and regulators to deliver safe, high-quality infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management preferred.
• 0–3 years of civil engineering, highway and bridge construction experience including inspection, scheduling and quantity reporting.
• Proficient in Word and Excel, Heavy Job, Heavy Bid, Viewpoint, OnBase.
• Valid driver's license required.
• English communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and develop detailed work plans with Field Supervision to ensure safe, timely work with high quality.
• Build 3-week crew schedules and update weekly.
• Provide CPM schedule updates to Project Manager to meet project needs.
• Coordinate with Owner's Design Engineers, Inspection staff, Subcontractors, Vendors and Regulators.
• Confirm receipt of materials and services; review timecards in OnBase; ensure correct cost codes.
• Ensure labor/equipment hours accuracy in Heavy Job and proper cost coding.
• Order materials/tools for crews and assist PM with internal Wagman processes.
• Review shop drawings, draft RFIs, maintain submittal log; read and interpret complex plans.
• Support Project Quality Control Plan and Site Safety Plan compliance.
• Monitor field work for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Resolve field construction problems and plan discrepancies; update Utility Matrix.
• Organize contract documents and shop drawings via Document Control.
• Assist PM with final quantities and project closeout including as-built plans.
