Job summary

Wagman, Inc. is seeking a Construction Engineer for its heavy civil team in the VA region.

The position requires 0–3 years of civil engineering experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and the ability to work on-site across VA, DC and MD with responsibilities including planning, scheduling, material purchasing and coordination with subcontractors. The role offers full-time salaried employment with a pay range of $60,000–$75,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management preferred.
  • 0–3 years’ experience in civil engineering, including inspection, scheduling, quantity reporting, material purchasing and subcontractor coordination.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and construction software such as Heavy Job/Heavy Bid/Viewpoint/OnBase/CAD required.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and develop detailed work plans with field supervision to ensure safe, timely and quality work.
  • Build and maintain 3-week crew schedules and provide CPM schedule updates.
  • Coordinate with design engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors and regulators.
  • Review invoices and timecards; ensure correct cost codes and OnBase documentation.
  • Assist with shop drawings, RFIs, submittals and QA/QC procedures.
  • Support project close-out and final quantities with as-built documentation.
