Job summary

SPS+ Architects in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Construction Administrator-Field to oversee the construction phase of projects, ensure quality, compliance, and smooth collaboration with architects, contractors, and clients.

The role demands a detail-oriented self-starter with at least five years of in-field construction management and the ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and plumbing drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent experience in Construction Management/Administration, including in-field work.
• BA or equivalent in Construction Management preferred.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently with conflicting deadlines.
• Attentive to detail and ownership in their work.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings (Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Plumbing).

Responsibilities

• Manage field construction admin, including start up, submittals & RFI reviews, ASIs, change orders, and closeout tasks for multiple in-field projects.
• Coordinate correspondence and review construction drawings & specifications.
• Review submittals against drawings and coordinate consultant submissions.
• Coordinate with Client, Contractor, Consultant and in-house design team throughout the project.
• Attend OAC meetings, document minutes, perform site inspections and follow up on actions.
• Ensure QA/QC, ADA compliance, review plans and specs, and provide feedback to design team.
• Perform final inspections, punch lists, and ensure project manual completeness.
• Mentor staff on field construction issues and monitor budget contingencies.
• Visit job sites regularly, create field reports and photos, maintain quality control.
• Review payment applications for percent complete, change orders, contingencies, and allowances.
