Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking a Commissioning Technician to ensure compressor units operate safely on site, performing assessments, calibrations, cleanings and system checks. The role requires travel up to 50–75% and strong mechanical and customer-service skills.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in natural gas compression, a CAT/Waukesha commissioning certification, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. OEM manuals and on-site tools are routinely used.

Qualifications

• CAT and Waukesha commissioning certification preferred.
• 2–3 years in natural gas compression or related experience.
• OEM, trade school, or comparable work experience in a related field/industry.
• Day-to-day completion of job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Strong mechanical intuition or ability.
• Comprehension of OEM manuals and literature.
• Operation of commercial vehicles, specialty tooling, and cranes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude/mechanically inclined.
• Communication and customer service skills.
• High level of organizational skills.
• Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Complete assessment of unit including any needed calibrations, cleanings, controls or system checks per Kodiak standards.
• Escalate unit issues that cannot be resolved to supervisor and/or manager.
• Ensure all required data collection is correct and complete.
• Responsible for ensuring all units are operating correctly.
• Be on location for every test performed.
• Perform corrective action as needed based on failed emissions testing.
• Follow-up tests when out of compliance.
• One day per week spent on preparing/submitting reports.
• Weekly communication with supervisor on any compliance issues and schedule updates.
• Maintain communications with emissions, operations and customers.
