Job summary

City of Maypearl is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer to conduct field inspections, respond to citizen concerns, and drive voluntary compliance with property standards. You will prepare cases for the Building and Standards Commission and assist in court testimony as needed.

A TX Code Enforcement Officer License and ICC Certification (IPC or IRBI) are required, along with a high school diploma or GED and two years of related experience. A valid Texas driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in code enforcement or building inspection.
• Current TX Code Enforcement Officer License and ICC Certification (IPC or IRBI) required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections to identify code violations and ensure compliance with property standards.
• Respond to citizen complaints and work to resolve property-related concerns.
• Engage with property owners/managers to obtain voluntary compliance before escalation to a Commission case.
• Help connect homeowners with resources and assistance programs.
• Prepare Building and Standards cases for Commission presentation and monitor compliance with orders.
• Provide testimony in court or before the Building and Standards Commission when required.
• Support Commercial Property Investigations team and manage elevated or complex cases as assigned.
