Job summary

The Town of Prosper, Texas, seeks a Code Compliance Officer to enforce local, county and state codes through inspections, investigations and enforcement actions. You will educate residents, promote voluntary compliance and uphold safe, healthy properties.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 3 years in code enforcement, a valid Texas Class C license, and the Texas Code Enforcement Officer license; ICC certification within two years; and passing a background, MVR check and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in the Code Enforcement (health or building) field.
• Two (2) years of customer service experience preferred.
• Must maintain required certifications.
• Must possess the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation Code Enforcement Officer License.
• Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
• Must possess or be able to obtain the ICC Code Certification within two years of employment.
• Must pass MVR check.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Enforces Town, County, and State laws by inspecting properties and determining enforcement actions.
• Educates and informs residents about applicable codes and ordinances.
• Promotes voluntary compliance and ensures corrective measures are taken when necessary.
• Upholds standards for property maintenance, zoning, and environmental health.
