Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a hands-on Coax Splicer to join our field team project sites across the region. You will splice, sweep, troubleshoot coaxial cable, and support node upgrades to improve network capacity.

In this role you will read CATV designs, work on outdoor utility sites, and travel to Knoxville or South Carolina as needed. A safety-first mindset and reliable transportation are essential.

Qualifications

• Safety is a value you live by.
• You have at least 1-3 years of splicing and sweeping.
• You are comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck.
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work.
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality.
• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime.
• You have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT Med card for driving purposes (Applicants are subject to an MVR review and must meet company standards for a safe driving record).
• Possible travel to Knoxville and South Carolina for a few days (Per diem will be provided if traveling).

Responsibilities

• Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot existing aerial and underground coaxial cable
• Optimize new Nodes and splice in node splits to reduce capacity
• Utilize RF Meters and TDR (time-domain reflectometers)
• Read the CATV telecommunication design and prints
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites
