Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection under the direction of CIP Level 2 or 3 inspectors, verifying surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standards, measuring ambient conditions and surface profile, and documenting coating application on tanks, structural steel, pipe and concrete.

AMPP CIP Level 1 certification is required, with 1+ year in industrial coatings; you will work around blasting and spray operations, keep a detailed daily inspection

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification is required, current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around blasting and spray operations; meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) during work.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness; check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing and pot life per datasheet.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
