Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of CIP Level 2 or 3 inspectors, verifying surface preparation against SSPC/NACE standards and measuring ambient conditions, surface profile, and film thickness. Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification, current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet film thickness and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against data sheets.
• Keep the daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of the work.
