Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to inspect protective coating work, verify surface prep to SSPC/NACE standards, and record ambient conditions, film thickness, and holidays on tanks and structures.

Requirements include AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and 1+ year in industrial coatings; you will maintain daily logs, photos, and assist senior inspectors on layout and turnarounds.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Familiar with SSPC/NACE standards and surface prep verification.
• Able to measure ambient conditions, film thickness, and holidays.
• Accurate record-keeping and log maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Measure ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standards.
• Measure WFT and DFT and check holidays/defects.
• Verify materials batch, mixing, and pot life per datasheet.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log with photos.
