Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections under a CIP Level 2/3 supervisor, ensuring surface prep meets SSPC/NACE standards and documenting all steps on tanks, structures, pipes, and concrete.

You will measure ambient conditions, film thickness, and inspect for defects, while keeping accurate logs and photos for traceability. The role advances to CIP Level 2 with required experience and training.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification, current
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations
• Meticulous with instruments and records

Responsibilities

• Measure ambient conditions before and during application
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects
• Verify coatings materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life
• Keep the daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of the work
