Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of CIP Level 2/3, verifying surface prep against SSPC/NACE standards, measuring ambient conditions and surface profile, and documenting each step on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification current.
• Minimum 1 year in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around tanks, blasting, and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during coating application.
• Verify surface preparation to specified SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness, check holidays/defects, and photograph each stage.
