Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to join our on-site team in Atlanta, GA. You will assist Senior Inspectors, review plans, monitor quality, and conduct field audits on roadway and bridge projects.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree or related experience with applicable GDOT certifications; a valid US driver's license is required. Expect some night/holiday work and active collaboration with contractors and QA teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with 2 years roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Or an Associate degree with 5 years roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Or a high school diploma with 7 years roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Obtain required certifications and pass GDOT tests within ~6 months.
• Valid US Driver’s License and pass MVR review.
• Basic proficiency reading and interpreting construction documents and specs.
• Proficiency using computers and office equipment for documentation and reporting.
• Experience with safety practices in field operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors in construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Monitor activities for quality standards and specs.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage to project requirements.
• Observe and support materials sampling/testing (soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold and promote safety practices in all construction activities.
