Job summary
Baxter & Woodman in Rockford, IL is seeking a Construction Engineer III to support IDOT District 2 projects spanning Ogle, Winnebago, and Boone counties. This position offers a full-time schedule with travel across the district, collaboration with design staff, and opportunities to engage with clients.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineering License required.
- 5+ years of proven progressive experience in construction engineering.
- Experience on IDOT or Illinois Tollway projects.
- Proficiency with IDOT CMMS and ISTHA eBuilder software.
- Willingness to travel across IDOT District 2.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests.
- Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies.
- Maintain job site records and daily reports.
- Review pay requests and verify completed work.
- Serve as liaison with contractor and protect owner against defects.
