Job summary

KLJ is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to assist in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, GIS data, and other sources for project development and construction.

You will perform basic professional civil engineering work, observe site conditions, and support compliance with rules, standards, and permits while contributing to safety-focused design and documentation. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related discipline.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Basic understanding of design/build concepts.
• Familiarity with environmental and construction laws, codes, regulations, and record-keeping.
• Interpersonal and professional communication for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Proactive self-leadership with attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team to meet objectives.
• Proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets and tools.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software.
• Willingness to travel occasionally depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, GIS data, and other matrices for project development and construction.
• Support basic professional civil engineering work and observations to ensure conformance with rules and permits.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety considerations for end-users and systems.
• Verify site characteristics and assist with environmental, design, and construction issues.
• Generate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field notes.
• Follow safety guidelines and site procedures for data, studies, and construction.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources, adhering to KLJ policies.
• Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
