Job summary

Benesch is offering a Civil Engineering Construction Internship based in Milwaukee or Neenah, WI, with field‑based duties and travel to project sites. You will inspect, document, and support civil and roadway construction activities under supervision.

We seek candidates pursuing a BS in Civil or Construction Eng, with field experience desired and familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, or AutoCAD. Driving record required; flexible field assignments and a supportive team environment are

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related engineering curriculum.
• Field-project experience is desired.
• Exposure to ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and ability to manage budgets and schedules.
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review and confirm with the project supervisor the adequacy of the budget and schedule.
• Perform construction observation of construction activities and follow project procedures.
• Maintain a field book according to project procedures.
• Perform measurements of construction work and quantity calculations of pay items.
• Prepare the Inspector’s Daily Reports and other project documentation as required.
• Report to the project supervisor on progress, issues, and remaining work.
• Review plans, specs, and submittals related to assigned work.
• Provide design or other professional assistance to project managers.
• Maintain company vehicles or equipment assigned for use on the project.
