Job summary

Benesch invites applications for a Civil Engineering Construction Internship for Summer 2027, based out of Naperville and Chicago with field assignments and travel to project sites. You will assist in daily inspection activities and documentation under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Civil/Construction Engineering, with field exposure and familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil or Construction Engineering is required.
• Experience on field projects is desired.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Review and assure the project supervisor of the adequacy of the budget and schedule.
• Perform construction observation and follow project procedures.
• Maintain a field book and record measurements and quantities.
• Prepare Inspector's Daily Reports and project documentation as required.
• Report progress and issues to the project supervisor.
• Review plans, specs, and submittals for assigned work.
• Provide design or other assistance to project managers.
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment as assigned.
