Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company seeks a Civil Engineering Construction Intern to assist in the daily inspection and documentation of infrastructure projects. The role is field-based, based in Milwaukee or Neenah, with travel to project sites required.

You will gain hands-on experience supporting civil design projects and work under the supervision of experienced staff. The internship emphasizes practical learning, exposure to field procedures, and collaboration across the team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related field.
• Experience working on field projects is desirable.
• Exposure to ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, or AutoCAD is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet budgets/schedules.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review project supervisor-approved budgets and schedules.
• Perform construction observation and document field activities.
• Maintain a field book per project procedures.
• Measure construction work and calculate pay quantities.
• Prepare daily inspector reports and other documentation as required.
• Report progress and issues to project supervisor with status updates.
