Job summary

Benesch is seeking a civil engineering construction intern to support field observation and documentation on a broad range of infrastructure projects. This field-based role is based in Milwaukee, WI or Neenah, WI with travel to project sites and required driving record checks.

You are pursuing a BS in Civil or Construction Engineering (or related engineering curriculum). Experience on field projects is a plus, and exposure to ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, or AutoCAD is desirable.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related field required.
• Experience on field projects desirable.
• Exposure to ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, and AutoCAD desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and ability to work within budgets and schedules.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review and confirm with the project supervisor the adequacy of the budget and schedule.
• Perform construction observation of activities and follow project procedures.
• Maintain a field book in accordance with project procedures.
• Perform measurements of construction work and quantity calculations.
• Prepare Inspector’s Daily Reports and other project documentation.
• Report progress, technical issues, and deficiencies to the project supervisor.
• Review plans, specifications, and submittals for assigned work.
• Provide design or other professional assistance to project managers.
• Maintain company vehicles or equipment assigned to the project.
