Job summary

Covanta is seeking a Field Chemist responsible for directing chemical testing activities and ensuring compliance with safety processes at customer locations. This role involves segregating, packing, and loading hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

The ideal candidate will have a science degree, 2+ years of experience, and certifications in hazardous materials handling. Responsibilities include compliance with RCRA and DOT regulations, maintaining safety, and direct field technician support.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior lab packing and environmental waste experience.
• All current certifications/licenses required.
• Highly motivated with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Certify that health and safety is the number one priority.
• Assist in characterizing materials at field project sites.
• Collect, identify, segregate, and package hazardous/non-hazardous waste.
