Job summary

Arcwood Environmental, LLC is seeking a Field Chemist to sort and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring safety and compatibility for each service. The position reports to the Field Office and operates across the region with daily office return.

It requires travel to project sites, strong safety focus, and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months. Education includes an Associates degree (required) with a Bachelor’s preferred; 2+ years of related

Qualifications

• Associates degree (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• In lieu of degree 2+ years of related experience (required).
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire date (required).
• Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record search to Company standards (required).
• Due to exposure to atmospheres/waste/materials, must be clean shaven to don a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies and safe practices at all times.
• Assists in segregation of chemicals by hazard class and packs compatible materials for transportation; completes paperwork.
• Determines and loads supplies for job completion and travels to various sites to perform lab pack services.
• Assists in characterizing materials at field project sites.
• Adheres to placarding and load segregation requirements when transporting hazardous materials.
• Develops good customer relations by effectively communicating with site contacts at customer locations.
• Directs Field Technicians/Drivers assisting with waste collection.
• Maintains knowledge of high-hazard materials management and cylinder handling.
• Willing to travel to support outside locations as needed.
