Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a CDL B Field Chemist in Omaha, NE to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste at customer sites daily. You will support HHW collections, lab moves, and on-site packing while working both indoors and outdoors.

This entry-level position offers growth into a salary management track with 200+ branch locations. Responsibilities include safety-first operations, preparing packing lists, inspecting storage areas and drums, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license is required.
• By position, obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Perform physical functions per job requirements.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe work practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifest, and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas, and drums for leaks and labeling compliance.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal and coordinate with customer sites.
• Execute jobs at customer locations including Fortune 500 companies.
• Approve all projects before shipment per OSHA, EPA, DOT, and policies.
• Follow site-specific regulations and health and safety plans.
• Understand customer disposal restrictions and packaging requirements.
• Sample and profile new waste streams as needed.
• Ensure drums are ship-ready and compliant with policy.
