Job summary

Clean Harbors in Dolton, IL is seeking a Class B CDL Route Driver (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack and inspect chemical waste at customer sites and labs. This is a customer-facing role, indoors and outdoors, with training at an out-of-state academy that is paid for by the company.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with a 6:00 am start and overtime after 40 hours. Hazmat endorsement preferred, pay range is $27–$29 per hour, and comprehensive benefits start after 30 days of full-time

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license.
• CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months.
• Background check, drug test, and physical are required by position.
• OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard facial hair rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the priority by following all safety practices and policies.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas and drums for leaks, spills and labeling compliance.
• Package and segregate waste chemicals for disposal with accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform jobs at customer locations including Fortune 500 companies and ensure project readiness before shipment.
• Follow site-specific regulations and health and safety plans.
• Understand customer disposal restrictions and special packaging requirements.
• Sample and profile new waste streams as needed.
• Operate vehicles safely per DOT and regulatory requirements.
• Support other duties as assigned.
