Job summary

Clean Harbors in Denver, CO seeks a Class B Route Driver Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack and inspect chemical waste at plants, labs and customer sites. This is a customer-facing role requiring daily site presence, both indoors and outdoors.

The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and hands-on lab-pack activities at customer locations with 10–30% overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with hazmat endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
• Must be able to attend 1 week of out-of-state academy
• Per OSHA respirator rules, facial hair standards apply
• Background check, drug test, and physical as required

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority in all tasks
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifest and landing disposal notifications
• Inspect staging, storage areas and drums for leaks, cleanliness and labeling compliance
• Package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and compliance
• Perform site duties at customer facilities, including HHW handling and lab moves
• Operate vehicles safely per DOT and company guidelines
• Follow regulatory health, safety and environmental standards at all times
