Job summary

Ameren Missouri is seeking a field-based Chemical Engineer to monitor and report on the performance of chemical systems across the Ameren Missouri sites. This role emphasizes quality control of plant chemistry equipment and collaborative problem-solving to improve equipment reliability.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Chemical Engineering, with preferred experience in water treatment and power plant chemistry; PE license is a plus but not required for entry.

Qualifications

• Chemical engineering degree required from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in water treatment and power plant chemistry preferred; new graduates considered.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor chemical system performance at multiple sites and produce reports.
• Provide quality control review of plant chemistry equipment and programs.
• Develop standards and strategies for design, operation, testing, and maintenance.
• Inspect chemical and plant equipment affected by chemical systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system problems.
• Collaborate with Ameren staff and outside entities to improve performance and reliability.
• Prepare procedures, specifications, and drawings for operating or modifying equipment.
• Coordinate work of contractors and Ameren personnel.
• Support major capital projects related to plant chemistry and environmental controls.
