Job summary

Brightspeed is seeking an experienced Network Technician to support and maintain central office switching equipment and field deployments in North Carolina. The role requires lifting outages, working overtime and weekends as needed to restore services.

You will install, support, and maintain fiber and copper networks, back up generators, and monitor alarm activity across transport and power systems. A strong customer-focused approach and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience as a switch technician
• Familiarity with inside and outside plant cabling practices
• Self-motivated with drive to resolve issues
• Ability to promote and sell Brightspeed services
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
• Ability to work well with customers and peers
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain switching equipment in Central Offices and in the field
• Keep backup generators in optimum condition
• Install, support, and maintain special circuits and work within the TIRKS system
• Monitor and support all switch alarm activity
• Install, support, and maintain fiber and copper networks
• Support and maintain transport networks and central office power
