Job summary

Brightspeed is seeking an experienced Network Technician to support and maintain central office switching equipment and field deployments in North Carolina. The role requires lifting outages, working overtime and weekends as needed to restore services.

You will install, support, and maintain fiber and copper networks, back up generators, and monitor alarm activity across transport and power systems. A strong customer-focused approach and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience as a switch technician
• Familiarity with inside and outside plant cabling practices
• Self-motivated with drive to resolve issues
• Ability to promote and sell Brightspeed services
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
• Ability to work well with customers and peers
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Brightspeed is looking for an experienced Network Technician to join our team! As a Brightspeed Network Technician you will be responsible for all aspects of working in the physical Central Office as well as in the field. As a Network Technician you will be required to work overtime and weekends as outages occur.

As Network Technician Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Supporting and maintaining all switching equipment in Central Offices as well as in the field
• Keeping all backup generators in optimum condition
• Installing, supporting, and maintaining special circuits and being capable of working within the TIRKS system
• Monitoring and supporting all switch alarm activity
• Installing, supporting, and maintaining fiber and copper networks
• Supporting and maintaining transport networks and central office power

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

• Familiarity with both inside and outside plant cabling practices
• 3 to 5 years experience as a switch technician
