Job summary

Brightspeed is seeking a Customer Service Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks across assigned service areas. You will handle wiring, expect outdoor plant work, and contribute to customer satisfaction.

The role requires performing field duties, operating in all weather, and adhering to safety rules. A valid driver’s license and physical stamina are essential; overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• Ability to distinguish colors on facilities.
• Ability to handle ladders and heavy covers.
• Completion of service tech boot camp training and related installations.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and aloft.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and varied hours.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Positive, professional demeanor when communicating with customers.
• Accountability and dependability; ability to work in a team and take input from customers.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video and voice networks including associated wiring and equipment
• Performing maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities
• Climbing poles, using a shovel and pick to dig up and bury cable, working in utility access holes or vaults, locating buried cables
• Observing all safety rules and regulations
• Assisting other technical personnel in their duties
• Actively supporting sales and marketing related activities
• Directing customer facing work and sales referrals
