Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Corrosion Technician to operate and maintain cathodic protection facilities across pipelines, terminals, and related sites. The role focuses on corrosion control, pipeline integrity, and compliance with company policies and safety standards.

The position requires electrical/mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and the ability to obtain Operator Qualifications within the first 6–12 months. Travel to remote sites and collaboration with multiple teams are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AA or BS in Engineering Technology, or related/equivalent experience required for advancement to higher step levels.
• Must have valid state driver’s license.
• Must pass and maintain Operator Qualification requirements.
• Experience in corrosion and/or pipeline operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implements CP surveys of pipelines, stations, and terminals into a data base (American Innovation Program).
• Reads and adjusts rectifiers and other pipeline/station facilities with instrumentation.
• Maintains records, drawings and enters data into the computer, and provides reports.
• Conducts interference test, performs quality control inspections, and repairs rectifiers, RMUs and PCRs.
• Assists with CP system design and with preparation of contract drawings, specifications and bid invitations.
• Represents the company at regional corrosion committees and audits by state/federal agencies or DOT.
• Assists with pipeline maintenance tasks and rectifier outages restoration.
• Develops plot plans and sketches as needed.
