Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a corrosion control technician to manage all activities related to pipeline integrity.

You will gather data, inspect cathodic protection equipment, perform maintenance, and document regulatory compliance while ensuring safe operations in a 24/7 terminal environment. The ideal candidate has at least two years in cathodic protection, knowledge of AC/DC systems and NEC/NACE standards, and holds or will obtain NACE CP-1 certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Two years of work experience in a Cathodic Protection related field.
• Working knowledge of CPDM CP Data Management System or equivalent.
• Ability to train other technicians in core competencies.
• Proficiency in AC and DC electrical systems; NEC and NACE standards knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Gather and evaluate data toward corrosion control to include pipe-to-soil surveys, rectifier readings, and interference testing.
• Recommend, perform, and oversee mitigative measures.
• Document work for regulatory compliance and operating procedures.
• Install, maintain, calibrate and repair Cathodic Protection equipment safely.
• Comply with company safety rules and complete safety trainings.
• Coordinate with Operations to minimize operational impacts.
• Perform inspections of electrical isolation and identify shorts.
• Oversee work by 3rd parties and ensure OQ training completion.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervision.
