Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Corrosion Technician to operate and maintain cathodic protection facilities across pipelines, terminals, and other sites, ensuring safety and compliance with OSP and state agency requirements. Office locations may include Colton, CA; Barstow, CA; or Las Vegas, NV.

The role requires experience with CP systems, electrical/technical skills, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions; driving record and licensing are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• AA or BS in Engineering Technology, or related/equivalent experience required for advancement to higher step levels.
• Must pass and maintain all applicable Operator Qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implements CP surveys of pipelines, stations, and terminals into a data base (American Innovation Program).
• Reads and adjusts rectifiers and other pipeline/station facilities with appropriate instrumentation.
• Maintains records, drawings and enters data into the computer, and provides reports.
• Conducts interference test, performs quality control inspections, and performs troubleshooting and repair of rectifiers, RMU equipment and PCRs.
• Assists with the design of CP systems and confers with departments responsible for contracts.
• Assists with the preparation of contract drawings, specifications and bid invitations.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with local, regional, and national NACE organizations; may represent Company at regional committees and audits.
• Assists with pipeline maintenance duties repairing CP and pipeline equipment and clearing right-of-way; investigates rectifier outages.
• Strong electrical and mechanical skills; basic understanding of electricity and electrical theory.
• Must be able to perform basic math and algebra calculations.
• Pass and maintain Operator Qualification requirements within first years of employment.
• Ability to sketch and develop plot plans.
