Kinder Morgan, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Corrosion Technician to operate and maintain cathodic protection (CP) facilities and oversee corrosion control and pipeline integrity across pipelines, terminals, and related sites. The role emphasizes safety and regulatory compliance.

You will plan, install, test, and maintain CP systems, supervise contractor crews, perform surveys, and assist with budgets and inspections. A high school diploma and AMPP/NACE CP certification are required.

Qualifications

• Requires AMPP (NACE) CP or Corrosion Technologist Certification.
• Internal corrosion knowledge is an asset.
• Experience with PCS/CPDM software.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CP facilities; plan and implement corrosion control.
• Evaluate internal corrosion chemical program; manage coupons.
• Adjust chemical injection pumps; schedule swabs, calculate chemical needs.
• Monitor downtime and flow velocities.
• Conduct bacterial and water analyses.
• Design, install, operate, maintain CP rectifiers and ground beds.
• Maintain CP systems with impressed current and sacrificial anodes.
• Supervise contractor crews on CP projects.
• Conduct CIS/Depolarization surveys and act on results.
• Coat, inspect and repair pipelines and tanks.
• Use ultrasonic thickness testing to assess metal.
• Locate submerged lines; repair electronics.
• Install/maintain CP test stations, signs, markers.
• Troubleshoot buried cables; ensure safety.
• Oversee ground bed installations and document.
• Annual surveys per NACE/DOT for CP protection.
• Assist planning budgets and regulatory inspections.
• Maintain Operator Qualifications.
