Job summary

NGE Sports is seeking an entry-level Construction Technician-I to support underground and aerial cabling projects in field environments. You will assist in placing fiber and copper cables, perform earthwork with hand tools and machinery, and help with maintenance, splicing, and testing of cables per project plans.

Responsibilities include mounting demarcation devices, supporting with equipment maintenance, and coordinating with customers and crews on site.

Qualifications

• IT knowledge and basic IT/mapping software use.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and drawings.
• Experience with hand and power tools is a plus.
• Ability to operate basic test equipment and data entry into systems.

Responsibilities

• Place direct buried cabling (fiber/copper) into ground.
• Perform earthwork labor with hand tools and equipment.
• Maintain and repair cable sections and splices.
• Operate or supervise use of heavy equipment when needed.
• Mount demarcation devices and protectors at client sites.
