Job summary

Frontier Communications is seeking a Cable Splicer to connect, rearrange and maintain outside cable, climbing poles and working aloft in various environments including manholes and vaults. You will use specialized tools and test equipment to locate faults and verify cable integrity.

Responsibilities include following safety practices, loading equipment, and reporting accurately. Overtime, night shifts, and travel may be required, with classroom and on‑the‑job training provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Must be able to distinguish colors.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Previous experience as a Cable Splicer or helper is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Connects, rearranges, and maintains outside cable per engineering designs.
• Climbs poles and works aloft on platforms and in manholes, vaults and ditches.
• Uses test equipment to locate cable trouble and perform completion tests.
• Operates power equipment and ensures proper cable pressurization.
• Inspects vehicles for safe operating conditions and reports accurately.
• May work odd hours including nights, weekends, or emergencies.
