Job summary

Desert Financial Credit Union is seeking a Business Development Officer to drive outbound sales and member acquisition in an assigned market. You will hunt for employer relationships, convert them into members, and partner with branches to deliver a seamless experience.

The role requires a demonstrated sales track record, B2B experience, and strong CRM discipline. A valid AZ driver license and regulatory compliance are essential as you build a self-managed pipeline with measurable ROI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline required.
• 2+ years of relevant sales experience with a documented quota or conversion targets required.
• B2B or consultative sales background preferred; experience building a self-driven pipeline from cold outreach through close is essential.
• Experience in fast rapport-building and proactive closing without a captive audience.
• Strong knowledge of credit union products and Desert Financial’s value proposition.
• CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot) to track outreach, lead status, and conversions required.
• Arizona driver license and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• NMLS licensing may be required for certain roles.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize target employer groups and high-volume hiring organizations within the assigned market.
• Outreach to HR departments and decision-makers; secure meetings and enrollment opportunities.
• Maintain an actively managed pipeline in CRM with lead status and conversion outcomes.
• Convert qualified prospects into routed referrals to branches and manage hand-off and follow-up.
• Attend and execute strategic partnership events and employer-facing opportunities with a defined conversion ask.
• Collaborate with Branch Managers to ensure a consistent, white-glove member experience from referral through onboarding.
