Job summary

General Produce in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a motivated Business Development Associate to expand our Chico region. This role is field-based, focusing on building real relationships, identifying new accounts, and representing fresh products in the market.

You'll travel within Northern and Central California, respond to customer inquiries on product and pricing, and work with management to grow profitability. A strong work ethic and 1 year of sales experience are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a sales environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college coursework in sales, business, or marketing preferred.
• Valid California Driver License with less than two points on DMV record.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
• Customer service: primary focus on in-person interactions to develop new business.
• Marketing & management: identify and pursue new accounts to generate profitable business.
• Communication: respond to customer inquiries regarding product, pricing and delivery schedules.
• Product knowledge: stay informed on product availability, market conditions, and customer feedback.
