General Produce is seeking a motivated Business Development Associate to expand our Bakersfield region. You will be in the field, building relationships, identifying new accounts, and representing fresh produce to customers across Northern and Central California and beyond.

The role requires a minimum 1 year of sales experience, a high school diploma (college coursework in sales/business/marketing preferred), and a CA driver license with clean DMV record.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 1 year in sales environment.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college coursework in sales, business, or marketing preferred.
• License: California driver license with <2 points on DMV record.
• Communication: Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, reliability and time management.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: Full time, Monday–Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
• Customer Service: Focus on in-person interactions to develop new business.
• Marketing & Management: Identify and pursue new accounts to generate profit.
• Communication: Respond to customer inquiries re product, pricing and delivery schedules.
• Product Knowledge: Maintain understanding of products, stay informed on market conditions and customer feedback.
