Job summary

Austin Powder Company seeks a Blaster to conduct field tests, interpret drill patterns, and safely arrange and detonate shots. The role requires precise communication with on-site personnel and maintaining documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

The Blaster will coordinate with APC staff, ensure safety, and manage public concerns as needed, working in diverse outdoor environments and travel to customer locations within the LLC area.

Qualifications

• Must meet state and federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor.
• Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to audibly hear and respond to the work environment of an active mining site.

Responsibilities

• Review drill patterns and diagrams to determine shot layout.
• Communicate blast details to all personnel on site.
• Prepare and detonate shots safely and successfully.
• Conduct pre/post shot safety audits and document per policy.
• Ensure crew complies with customer policies and coordinate handling of issues.
