Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking a Blaster to conduct field tests and determine explosive needs for jobs. The role involves reading drill patterns, coordinating shot layouts, and detonation of charges with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will maintain documentation, communicate with crew and customers, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures at customer sites. Requires ATF explosive possessor status and a valid blaster license.

Qualifications

• Must meet state and federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor.
• Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to audibly hear and respond to the work environment of an active mining site.

Responsibilities

• Under direction, reviews drill patterns and diagrams to determine shot layout.
• Communicates blast details with all personnel on site.
• Detonates shots safely and completes pre/post shot safety audits.
• Maintains documentation and coordinates with APC personnel and sales team.
