Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking a Blaster to conduct field tests and determine explosive needs for customer jobs. The role involves reading drill patterns, arranging detonation, and maintaining documentation. You will ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with APC personnel and the sales team.

The position requires a state blaster license, 21+ years of age, and the ability to operate in outdoor mining environments. Travel to customer locations is expected as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 21+ years old as required by ATF.
  • Current blaster's license as required by state.
  • Experience with initiation systems, laser profiling, and seismographs.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Review drill patterns and diagrams to determine shot layout to meet customer needs.
  • Communicate blast details with all personnel on site.
  • Prepare and detonate shots safely and successfully.
  • Conduct pre/post Shot Safety Audits and documentations per policy.
  • Ensure compliance with customers' policies/procedures and coordinate handling of issues and public concerns.
  • Maintain safety and health standards on location and during transit as required by regulation and policy.
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork or software; adhere to DOT or other agencies.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
21+ years old
Current blaster's license
Experience with initiation systems, laser profiling, seismographs
Clear verbal and written communication
