Field Biologist: Environmental Surveys & Permitting

Job summary

WSP is seeking a full-time Biologist for our Earth and Environment Sector – North Mountain Environmental Impact Assessment and Permitting group, with work across the North Mountain Region.

The ideal candidate will conduct botanical and wildlife surveys, wetlands inventories, and support NEPA analyses and permitting. Excellent communication and the ability to work independently or in a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
• 3–5+ years consulting on linear projects (pipelines, transmission).
• Familiarity with USFWS, BLM, USFS and state survey requirements.
• Attention to detail and professionalism.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and build environmental project team on transmission lines, pipelines, renewable energy, and other projects.
• Conduct biological field surveys (avian, wildlife, vegetation, wetlands, sensitive species).
• Assist with wetland inventories, permitting, and documentation.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Travel regionally as needed.
