Job summary

Merck in the United States seeks a Professional Services Veterinarian to lead technical initiatives within the Tri-State Region (NY, NJ, CT, RI). This field-based role emphasizes coaching, leadership, and advisory support to internal and external customers while delivering ongoing development and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree required.
• 10 years of combined relevant experience: 5 years in clinical companion animal practice and 5 years in animal health industry or leadership roles.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication with internal customers and hospital decision makers.
• Ability to translate complex issues for diverse audiences.
• Capable of influencing without direct authority.
• Strong networking inside and outside the organization.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and industry tools such as Salesforce, Veeva, Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a regional technical expert and coach to regional leadership and sales teams.
• Prepare and deliver technical lectures on our product line to customers, accounts, and veterinary organizations.
• Offer solutions aligned with customer needs and business priorities.
• Collaborate with Regional Sales Manager to develop and execute business strategy to meet regional priorities.
• Engage with key opinion leaders at veterinary schools and associations to discuss our portfolio and opportunities.
• Represent Animal Health at veterinary schools and conferences.
• Address training needs of sales reps and coach them in technical selling skills.
