Job summary

AstraZeneca seeks a Respiratory Medical Science Liaison (MSL) on the COPD team to translate scientific insights into clinical practice and improve patient care. This field-based role covers Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Utah, and Nevada, with travel and in-person collaborations across hospitals, clinics, and KOLs.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree and clinical/scientific background as required.
• 1–2 years clinical or pharma experience with exposure to respiratory disease.
• Strong communication to convey complex information clearly.
• Ability to travel 50–70% and build professional relationships.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in medical affairs.

Responsibilities

• Engage pulmonologists, hospitalists, PCPs and KOLs to build relationships.
• Collect, analyze, and share evidence-based insights for clinical practice.
• Translate complex data into clinician-ready insights for field activities.
• Support clinician education, deliver presentations, and advise at meetings.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes and inform internal teams.
• Respond to inquiries with scientific information while ensuring compliance.
• Stay current on disease state management and competitive landscape.
